CCMTA Hymn Festival

Entry Deadline: TBA Please give your piano teacher ample time to mail entries by this deadline.
Requirements: Students in all levels may use their music. Pedal is not required in levels IA, IB, IC, ID; however, if pedal is used, it will be judged on proper use.
Requirements by Level
IA: Simplified hymns with predominantly one voice. Play two.
IB: Simplified hymns with predominantly two voices. Play two.
IC: Simplified hymns with predominantly three voices. Play two.
ID: Transitional hymns from a transitional hymn book. Play two.

II through VII
Hymns should be selected from a church hymnal or a published and copyrighted supplemental praise book. Pedal is required.
II through VI
At least one hymn should be in four-part harmony, chorale style.
III through VII
Introductions are required.
II Hymns in two different keys. Play two.
III Hymns in two different keys of 2 or more sharps or flats. Play two.
IV Hymns with easy rhythms in at least three different keys; two of which must have 2 or more sharps or flats. Prepare five. Play two selected by monitor or judge.
